Private Screening at Columbia Studios, 1979

Private screening arranged by ARIADNE to preview the film “Hardcore,” a film about the pornography industry and a young female runaway. Discussion was around the films portrayal of women: sensitive or exploitative. The discussion was led by Suzanne Lacy and C.A.T (Children of the Night) founder, Lois Lee. Lee is the world’s leading expert in rescuing child sex trafficking victims. C.A.T is the only comprehensive program in the US devoted to saving children forced into prostitution. The discussion after the viewing of the film received local news coverage that presented the feminist analysis of the film to the movie going public.
